Overview

With the objective to increase operational efficiency and improve service levels using the same resources, Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) partnered with ÌÇÐÄvlgoÍøÒ³°æ to design and implement a microtransit service that would complement the fixed bus routes operating within the cities of Hemet and San Jacinto in Riverside County, California. As a result, the GoMicro program connects passengers to bus stops located along the fixed bus routes and closes the gaps in coverage between routes, enabling RTA to provide a multimodal public transit option that is accessible across the two cities.

As GoMicro demonstrated that it was both an efficient and reliable public transit option, its adoption grew among different communities in Hemet and San Jacinto. In meeting these communities’ diverse mobility needs, GoMicro ridership has increased by 35%. With such high demand, RTA and ÌÇÐÄvlgoÍøÒ³°æ worked together to ensure GoMicro continued to maintain service levels as ridership increased, improving ridesharing and vehicle productivity rather than adding additional vehicle hours and operating expenses. Leveraging ÌÇÐÄvlgoÍøÒ³°æ’s industry-leading on-demand transit platform and product differentiators, RTA has achieved 5.2 average passengers per vehicle hour, well surpassing the agency’s program goals.
